For help with your account, billing or a chemistry observation: A public support address will be available before paid subscriptions open.

When reporting a reaction, include the experiment name, reagents, concentrations, volumes and the observation you expected. You can export a saved experiment from your notebook. Remove personal information before sharing a file.

Getting started

Start on the homepage, sign in with Google and enter your laboratory. Open Experiments for guided investigations or Sandbox for free mixing. Place stock bottles and glassware on the bench, overlap a source with a receiver and hold the pour control. Precipitates appear when the supported chemistry predicts a solid.

Flame tests and unknown samples

The flame-test kit places a visible Bunsen burner on the sandbox bench. Light it, open the air hole, clean the loop, dip into the selected vessel and move the loop into the flame. Clean between samples; residual ions can mask a new colour.

Open Identify ions to generate an unknown salt. Take fresh portions for different reagent tests, record the visible observations and identify the cation and anion. The source name stays hidden until correct identification or reveal. Export the report to keep your evidence.

Using the paid indicator kit

LabSpace+ adds methyl orange, litmus solution, red and blue litmus paper, and thymolphthalein. Bring a tool from the apparatus cabinet to the bench, then drag it onto a liquid sample or apply it to the selected vessel. Litmus paper records a separate strip result; it does not recolour the liquid.

Use separate fresh samples to compare indicators. Neutral samples leave the original red and blue paper colours unchanged. Methyl orange is yellow at neutral pH. Coloured, mixed-indicator and unsupported samples can produce an uncertain reading.

Membership and saved work

My account shows your current access and apparatus kit. Use Manage billing to change payment details or cancel. If checkout finished and access is still pending, use Refresh membership. Saved experiments are attached to the account used to purchase; sign in with the same account.

Account experiments can be reopened, exported and deleted in your notebook. Browser-only notes stay on that device. Export account learning data or delete it from My account.

Chemistry coverage

The in-lab reference lists supported reaction families and model limits. An unsupported result is not evidence that chemicals are compatible or do not react. pH estimates and indicator responses are available only for supported acid–base mixtures.
